IT’S SPRING BREAK TIME AGAIN

It is that time a year again when kids enjoy their Spring Break, getting away from the books and homework. In preparation, Sunset Empire Park and Recreation District and the Seaside Police Department are putting the final touches on Spring Break activities and security. While Park and Recreation is planning a host of events and activities, the police department is gearing up for the increase of visitors.

Sunset Empire Park and Recreation District will have an open gym at Broadway Middle School both weekends from 7-11pm. as well as late night swimming at Sunset Pool from 7-11pm. There will be a Magic Show at the Convention Center Saturday March 24t, a skateboard competition, a teen concert and  lots of other great activities over the 9 days... For more information, look for the insert in the Seaside Signal, contact Sunset Empire Park and Recreation at 738-3311or look for their fliers.

As for the Seaside Police Department, they will be joined by officers from Astoria, Gearhart, Warrenton, Cannon Beach, Oregon State Police, and the Clatsop County Sheriffs office to provide safety for our visitors. While OSP troopers will be enforcing traffic laws along Highway 26 and 101 and Seaside Police will be patrolling city streets, other officers will be assigned foot patrols in the downtown area along with the Clatsop County Mounted Posse patrolling the beach.
