SPRING IS HERE & SPRING BREAK IS
RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
The Seaside Police Department and Sunset Empire
Park and Recreation
District are putting the final touches on their preparations for Spring Break.
While Park and Recreation is planning a host of events and activities, the
police department is gearing up for the increase of visitors.
Sunset
Empire Park
and Recreation District will have an open gym at Broadway Middle School
both Friday and Saturday nights from 7-11pm.
as well as late night swimming at Sunset Pool from 7-11pm on both Friday and Saturday nights.
There is a Magic Show at the Convention Center Friday March 24th, a
skateboard competition March 25th and April 1st, a free
teen concert Monday March 27th, and lots of other great activities

As for the Seaside Police Department, they will be joined by
officers from Astoria,
Gearhart, Warrenton, Cannon Beach,
Oregon State Police, and the
Clatsop County Sheriffs office to provide safety for our visitors. OSP troopers
will be enforcing traffic laws along Highway 26 and 101 as well as providing
some bicycle patrols in the downtown area. In addition to our regular patrol
shifts, other officers are assigned foot patrols in the downtown area and the Clatsop
County Mounted Posse will be patrolling the beach.
Recent history shows Spring Break in Seaside is attracting more and more families
and we are looking forward to them enjoying their stay. Some things to remember
whether a resident or just visiting are:
- Seaside maintains a
zero tolerance for Minor in Possession or Consumption of Intoxicating
Beverages. Bail is set at $300
- Seaside
Ordinance prohibits minors under the age of 18 (unless accompanied by a
parent or guardian) from being upon any street, highway, park, alley or
other place between midnight
and 4AM.
- Seaside
City Ordinance prohibits alcohol beverages on the beach during Spring
Break. Those found in possession of alcoholic beverages can be cited for
Open Container.
- Seaside
City Ordinance prohibits open container of alcoholic beverages anywhere
within the City. Bail is set at $700.
The City of Seaside
Safety Committee hopes everyone will have a safe and
fun Seaside
experience; while Sunset
Empire Park
and Recreation District is working to see that you have fun, the Seaside Police
Department will be working to see that you are safe.
