Spring Break A Family Event

Seaside Police report Spring Break was family oriented and relatively quiet. While there were a number of people enjoying the City and the Prom, there were only a couple of reports of loud parties involving juveniles or adults. This past Saturday night was the most active with officers responding to a couple of loud parties and three reported fight calls. Officers working the weekend issued forty-three traffic citations, twenty-four citations for Minor in Possession/Consumption of Intoxicating Liquor, and made nineteen additional criminal arrests. Those arrests included Driving While Under the Influence, Warrants, Trespass, Theft, Possession of Less Than an Ounce of Marijuana, Disorderly Conduct and Furnishing Liquor to a Minor.

The most significant criminal activity over the past week and two weekends included a reported rape, an assault with a knife, a robbery with a knife, and extensive graffiti at the Turnaround and the Prom that led to the arrest of two juveniles and two adults. The rape and two assaults with a knife are still under investigation.
