NEWS RELEASE
SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED AND ARREST MADE
IN SEASIDE
On Thursday morning, March 29th 2007, the Clatsop County
Inter-agency Narcotic Team, (CCINT), executed a drug search warrant at the
Wahanna Creek Apartments in Seaside. The Seaside Police Department High Risk
Response Team, (HRRT), assisted in making the tactical entry into apartment
number 8 located on the second story at 355 S. Wahanna Rd.
The investigation comes after CCINT detectives received information about
excessive vehicular and pedestrian traffic going to and from the
apartment. CCINT detectives conducted
surveillance over several weeks and were able to identify 18-year-old Juan Jose
Cazares-Garcia as an alleged distributor of cocaine. CCINT detectives obtained enough information
for a search warrant.
The execution of the search warrant led to the
seizure of 22 grams of cocaine, a little over $1,000 currency and the arrest of
Juan Jose Cazares-Garcia on charges of possession of a controlled
substance. Detectives believe that Juan
Jose Cazares-Garcia is responsible for distributing cocaine to several Seaside
residents.
