PRESS RELEASE

On May 8, 2006 at approx. 10:50 P.M. Eric John Alward, 23 years of age, was reported as missing from his Seaside residence by his mother. Eric Alward reportedly has health concerns and it is unlike him to be gone from home over night. Alward had been contacted by police earlier in the day on Beerman Creek Rd., but was not reported as missing at that time. He was in good condition, reportedly out for a walk.

Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office using the Search and Rescue Team assisted searching county roads in the area. The search was stopped after a few hours.

On May 9, 2006 Seaside Police Department conducted follow up interviews and the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office is preparing for another search of the rural area east of Beerman Creek Rd. using the Search and Rescue Team.

Eric Alward is described as a white male, 23 years of age, 5’7” tall, weighing approx. 160 lbs., blue eyes, long brown hair, brown beard. Last known to be dressed in a red coat, blue jeans and Nike tennis shoes, blue and grey in color.
